Eastern Suburbs Athletic Club has been a major Club within the Tasmanian athletics scene for more than 60 years, having been formed in 1955.
Have you ever dreamed of representing Australia at an Olympic or Commonwealth Games. Or do you just like to challenge yourself by taking part in regular competition with a great bunch of friends.
Over the years, many ESAC members have experienced both of the above, as well as every other emotion and achievement in between.
We offer a friendly welcoming environment into the sport of athletics, regardless of your ambition, ability, motivation or goal.
Competition in Track and Field is conducted by Athletics South at the Domain Athletic Centre from October until March, as well as the opportunity to compete at Tasmanian Championship level at various age groups.
We also offer opportunities in officiating, an area in which you can also reach levels such as Olympic Games officiating, just as easily as you can be trained to hold a tape or rake a pit, key roles in athletics competition at any level, from interclub to international.
Come along and try the sport before you make a commitment, or if you are ready for the next step into competition, clink on the “Join” button above. There is no regular commitment, if you are there on competition day, you will have our full support, and if you don’t feel like it, come along anyway and we will put a smile on your face and encourage you to compete.
We welcome members aged from 9 to 90, and if you are younger, contact us and we will put you in contact with the Little Athletics Centres we associate with, and they will help you out until you turn 9.
